The First

What I love about being an educator - about being in education - is participating in a learning journey alongside and along with students. I’m grateful to have reached a point in my career where I’ve figured out a few things, I know there are (many?) aspects of teaching music that I have yet to master, and I’m genuinely excited about learning and growing as an educator.

More than ever, there are so many sources of inspiration, so many great people and resources that serve as a catalyst for change in my teaching.

If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
— Sir Isaac Newton, 1675

I think there are other educators out there like me. Educators that are at once experts and learners, confident practitioners and eager apprentices. This website is dedicated to educators on the journey from novice to master.

Learning from and building on the work of master teachers, I look forward to sharing the inspiration they bring to my teaching.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you’ll visit again to share this journey with me.
